Autumn Grass

Autumn Grass is similar to the Blue 3 column blogspot theme except that it uses a different colour scheme. These colours remind me of autumn grass when it's just about to go to sleep for the winter. This Blogger template has the same great video feature in its header like Blue and it's also Adsense Ready. Just add in your codes and start making money!

How to Change the Header Vertical Link Unit
1. Expand your template widget by clicking on the tiny box to the top right corner of your edit HTML panel.
2. Scroll down until you see this set of codes (click on the picture below to see the detail):
3. Detete the 'http://k2modify.blogspot.com' and add your own urls.
Editor's Note: I've tested this out and it works perfectly. Make sure you close your tags properly if you decide to delete things from this layout. All you need to do is delete the URL and add your own, but keeping the ' ' between the URL or it will give you an error.

hey no problem, my pleasure! to change the links you have to check the "expand widget template" in the edit html panel and scroll down until you see the hard coded links... it should be in the header section between "< li > < /li >" tags.
To add your adsense you have to once again expand your widget template. Where do you want to specifically add your adsense codes? If I know where you want to add them I can just create screenshots to show you where exactly to add the codes.

Trying to get Autumn Grass up and running on my blog and am using Opera. I had the same adsense problem. I read your earlier reply, expanded widgets and was able to get the code in, but still nothing. Just a white space. Please take a look at my blog and lemme know when you find time.
Also, please tell me how to increase the font size in the post body.

Hey Blogger Mom, when you add your adsense codes make sure you take
< ! - -
// - - >
out of your script because blogger does something weird to the adsense code if you copy and paste the exact code that adsense generates.
To change the body font scroll down until you see this:
/ * BODY FONT * /
#primary .item .itemtext {
font: 1.1em/1.5em 'Lucida Grande', Verdana, Arial, Sans-Serif;
text-align: justify;
color: #858585;
}
and change the font to whatever you like.

sorry to bug you again...I can't figure out how to change the youtube videos!! I am a non-techie, so please bear with me.
Is that any way I can feature videos of my choice or have you set it to some default?

no you're not bugging me at all! sometimes I'm unable to respond right away because I have school to attend to.
To change the Youtube video all you have to do is expand your template widget and find the youtube codes.. it should have the tags < embed > around it... remove all of it and put your own youtube code there. Remember to make the dimensions of your chosen video the same as the dimensions I have there or it won't display properly in the template. Hope that helps!

yipey..It worked. I have my own youtube vdo now. One last question (hopefully) I am trying to customize the links in the supernavigation where the home/about/templates all come back to you. Whnever I try to put my own data in it i get:
Your template could not be parsed as it is not well-formed. Please make sure all XML elements are closed properly.
XML error message: The content of elements must consist of well-formed character data or markup.
And i am not even trying to make any major changes...just changing k2modify to abloggermother.blogspot

Hi there, make sure you close the codes properly like the links should be between < li > < /li > and the html code for links should be < a href = "http:yoursite.com" > Your Site < /a >

Hi Adam. I love this layout and am hoping to use it. Unfortunately I get blogger error messages evry time I upload it. I went to blogger support, but they seem to be ignoring me. I was wondering if there was any changes in this that I needed to use instead or and tricks to getting it to upload properly.

hey summer! have you tried expanding your widget template in the html editor? once you do that all you have to do is copy and paste the codes in. Have a look at the 5 easy steps to uploading a template. I hope that helps. If you're still having trouble, please feel free to contact me!
I'm also trying to change the video component. I keep getting the following message:

XML error message: The reference to entity "rel" must end with the ';' delimiter.
I'm using the code just as Youtube gives it for embedding, only modifying the dimensions, but its not working for me.

since youtube updated their infrastructure the code has to modified slightly before incorporating it into the template so that it doesn't break or cause an error.
you have to take out the "&rel=1" in the youtube code that you copied. It's better to just replace the link in the existing template i.e. replace with this http://www.youtube.com/v/Xr_WCPHDX-8

http://www.youtube.com/v/Xr_WCPHDX-8&rel=1

I've set the "Expand Widget Templates," though unfortunately I continue to get this message. Am I doing something wrong?

Your template is beautiful.i wanted to use it. But since I do not want a video on my blog, I wanted to remove the header reading "Featured Video".
Could you suggest how to do it?
hi you can use other k2 modify templates that are similar to Autumn Grass but don't have the video in the header. Have a look through the archives. The problem with removing the "Featured Video" is that you have to get rid of the header completely and use your own.
I love this theme! And pretty much all of those on your site! It's has been such a great find for me, nice blogger templates are so hard to find which is the reason i switched to wordpress for a while.
Unfortunately i can't add the adsense codes at all.. i keep getting "missing end tags" and such. ..So code illiterate. =(

I'm really loving the look of this template. I'm just trying to customize things and I was hoping you could help. Regarding the third column, under the YouTube video? I can't get any content to go over there? When I add "page elements" in blogger, they automatically go to the second column and there's no option to slide them into the third column. Do you mean add elements to the sidebar? Blogger widgets should take care of that. Otherwise you might have to hard code stuff in by expanding template widget and playing around with the xml.

The colours in the banner is made up of an image so you have to expand template widget and replace the header image link with another one of your choice. I forget the dimensions of the header becuase it's been so long since I created this template but to easily get the dimensions just copy and paste the header into an image editing tool like photoshop and tweak it to your liking.
